Red Wine by Chateau St. Jean from Sonoma County, California. This wine consists of Cabernet Sauvignon (88%) blended with Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petit Verdot (2%). After a combination of open and closed-top fermentation, the wine was barreled down for 15 months in two-thirds French oak and one-third American oak. Once the barrel selection was made, the wine was assembled and bottled. Inviting aromas of blackberry, black tea and wildflowers begin the nose of this Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is concentrated and structured with sweet, dark berry fruit and elegant, round tannins. - Margo Van Staaveren, Winemaker
